Removals from Croydon to Portugal

The long, sunny one — Croydon to Lisbon, Porto, the Algarve and the Silver Coast, driven down through France and Spain, with the customs side handled from start to finish.

CROSSING · the Channel, then south through France and across Spain to Portugal

Portugal is the longest of our routes, routed down through France and across Spain to the Atlantic. That distance is exactly why the survey matters: a van that is the wrong size for a haul this long is an expensive thing to discover halfway down Spain.

The Algarve is the headline — retirement and lifestyle moves to the south coast — but Lisbon, Porto and the Silver Coast keep this route busy year-round. Wherever you are landing, we carry through to the door rather than dropping at a depot for someone else to finish.

Customs is a full non-UK import: a valued inventory and the right residence and import declarations, all prepared and lodged in Croydon before the load leaves. We run this route often enough to get it right the first time.

On this route

What’s included

Survey & written quote

Detailed volume and access check for a long southern haul.

Export packing

Built for distance; careful-item wrapping as standard.

Customs entries

Inventory and import declarations prepared and lodged.

Dedicated or shared transit

The whole van, or a slot on a scheduled Portugal run.

Delivery, unpack & rebuild

Carried in, reassembled, packing cleared at the door.

This is the longest leg, so it needs the most planning. Transit depends on the routing, the crossing and the clearance — your written quote sets out the realistic window for your move, with no stock number either way.

The paperwork

What a move to Portugal needs

We prepare and lodge the customs entries — but a few documents have to come from you. Here is the short list, in plain terms.

Inventory (packing list)
The valued, itemised list every customs entry is built on.
NIF number
Your Portuguese tax identification number, needed for the import in your name.
Proof of Portuguese address
Tenancy, purchase or residence evidence for the destination.
Passport / ID copy
Identity for the household-goods owner.
“Retiring to Portugal and wanted it done properly. They packed the fragile things themselves, handled all the export paperwork, and nothing was broken or missing at the other end. Calm and capable.”

Questions

Croydon → Portugal, answered

Do you move to the Algarve specifically?

It is our most-asked Portuguese destination. Lisbon and Porto are regular stops too, but the Algarve and the Silver Coast are where a lot of these moves are headed, and we deliver right to the door.

What is a NIF and do I need one?

The NIF is your Portuguese tax identification number. The customs import is generally made in your name, so you will usually need it in place. Let us know where you are with it and we will plan the timing around it.

It is a long way — is my stuff handled carefully over that distance?

That is exactly why we pack for distance and survey the load properly. Careful-item wrapping is standard, not an extra, and the same crew that loads you in Croydon sees it through to the Portuguese address.
