What a move to Portugal needs
We prepare and lodge the customs entries — but a few documents have to come from you. Here is the short list, in plain terms.

- Your Portuguese tax identification number, needed for the import in your name.
- Proof of Portuguese address
- Tenancy, purchase or residence evidence for the destination.

Do you move to the Algarve specifically?

What is a NIF and do I need one?
The NIF is your Portuguese tax identification number. The customs import is generally made in your name, so you will usually need it in place. Let us know where you are with it and we will plan the timing around it.
